Using AI safely

AI-Public is a secure AI environment built specifically for public and non-profit organisations, with the option to sign in through your own environment. The application helps you handle personal data, access and model use with care.

AI-Public

GDPR and personal data

Organisations collect and use personal data. The GDPR requires you to handle this data carefully and protect the privacy of the people concerned.

Is AI-Public GDPR-compliant?

To comply with the GDPR, your organisation signs a data processing agreement for using the AI-Public application. It sets out how personal data is processed.

  • Data processing agreement included with the contract
  • Agreements with sub-processors
  • Information is sent in encrypted form

What happens to submitted chats?

Chat messages are sent to sub-processors so they can provide a response. Agreements are in place with these parties to ensure information is processed confidentially and in compliance with the GDPR.

  • Chat history is retrieved to provide context
  • The new question is sent via an API connection
  • AI-Public displays the response in the chat window

Public sector context

Behind the scenes

For every question, we carefully determine what information is needed to answer it and which model to send it to.

Language models

AI-Public offers several language models, including GPT, Claude, Gemini and Mistral. The information is sent to the provider that supplies the API connection.

Image mode

Image generation does not retrieve chat history. The description is sent directly to the text-to-image model through an API connection.

OpenAI and other providers

AI-Public uses API connections with providers such as OpenAI, Google and Anthropic. Data processing agreements are in place with providers to ensure data is not used for training.
